I'd rather be Peter Pan. Or at least the female equivalent

Good morning beauties. Here I was sat eating my toast, thinking about a beautiful day ahead with my family in the cold and windy UK. When my blog inspiration dawned on me. Creativity, growing up and the Peter Pan mentality.
When we are young we don't care about our socks matching, wearing wellies and sunglasses with a thick cosy hat and t-shirt on a boiling hot summers day, whether our colouring stays in the lines or even if we colour in a bright orange elephant in our colouring book. We just do whatever we feel like doing, we create beauty from within, we don't sit and think about whether others will approve or understand our vision.
At what point do we decide to start listening to what everyone else says we should be doing? Why do we stop listening to that urge of creativity? Why do we start painting by numbers and conforming to these boxes placed upon us? We are at a beautiful time in earth's evolution where creativity, exploring and expressing your unique creativeness is greatly encouraged. Even if people around you may not understand it.
I always loved photography, writing, speaking, any way that I can express myself I am there doing it. I got to a certain point in my life where I lost myself, stopped expressing myself and ended up with severe anxiety. Expressing myself through writing was my outlet to start releasing so much creativity I had kept hidden away for many years. Writing in my journal became second nature to me but I got to a point where I wanted to take a leap of faith and start writing in public. A huge part of me was so scared to, I had every worry running through my mind but decided to try it anyway. Still to this day I sometimes worry about whether my content is good enough to be out there, but then I realise that I am not here to live up to anyone's standards. I write, I am real, authentic, I don't try to pretend something I'm not. I don't hide behind a fake façade to gain followers or likes. I enjoy writing, actually no I LOVE writing, it makes me happy and that is why I do it.
I'd rather have the Peter Pan mind-set, because life is fun, life is what you make of it and I choose to create in many different and fulfilling ways every single day. I choose to laugh and look silly doing so, I choose to take a leaf out of my children's books and not give a flying monkey what anyone else thinks. I choose to write daily, dance around the living room at 6am because I can, skip through a car park with my daughter because she wants to, and so do I.
So I ask you now. Do YOU want to grow up and pretend to be happy stood watching your children, your peers, everyone else having the time of their life in that very moment, creating, jumping in puddles, laughing at the most random things, colouring that elephant pink or orange or green. Or do you want to be one of the people actually doing what makes you happy, creating the butterflies in your tummy, making your heart beat faster, making you laugh until there is no noise coming out and you are rolling around clapping like a seal. Besides, being a grown up is boring.
